California Blog #35: Touchdown!

 Every February, the Super Bowl happens on television and we watch every year. People get their tickets to see the Super Bowl at a stadium to see which football team wins. This is what the Super Bowl trophy looks like when you see the picture of it.


Now listen carefully and pay attention, cause you might be interested in on of those special events on football history. If we get lucky 🍀, maybe we can all get together in person when I come to Aunt Leta’s house and watch the Super Bowl. Have a Super Bowl party at their place here in Scotts Valley. This year’s Super Bowl championship is between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Rams.


In case you didn’t know just yet, every Super Bowl has a halftime show where musical artists perform hit songs for the football season. A halftime show is just like a concert, and every performance has its entertainment in every stadium.


Here’s the scoop.


Back in 2012, Madonna performed at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, Coldplay performed in 2016.

In 2019, Maroon 5 performed with Travis Scott and Big Boi at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium at Atlanta, Georgia

Last year, The Weeknd performed at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

And in 2004, Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson performed at the Reliant Stadium in Houston Texas. That last part of the performance had a wardrobe malfunction. Yikes.

This year, it’s Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.


If you haven’t seen any highlights in football game history, then I suggest you watch NFL Slimetime on Nickelodeon which is on Wednesday nights at 7PM. I watch it every other Wednesday to catch up with the Slime Lights, the Team Fantasy showdown, the inside scoop on NFL football, and most importantly, Lincoln Loud announces the NVP nominees during the show. As Lincoln would say, “Who will it be? You’re about to find out.” So I wanna recommend NFL Slimetime to my Aunt Leta and Uncle Mark, and my cousins Ryan, Brendan, Shanann, and Miles. I’m really sure that they’ll all love it. Wait ‘til they see Nate Burleson and Young Dylan talk about the highlights in NFL history.

California Blog #08: A Visit to Axtell Expressions

  Ever since the day I got my first Axtell puppet in Lawrence KS, it has always been my dream to entertain children, and start my puppet's own show on YouTube. So I would like to take my time to talk about Axtell Expressions. It all started in the month of February 2013 when I got my bee puppet delivered to my door. It was a best day of my life. Since I named him Buzzy, I got the chance to show my puppet to everyone in Lawrence. The school that I went to [Free State High School], Cordley Elementary [including Lois Orth-Lopes], and of course all of my friends in this town I lived in. They are so thrilled that they saw it. He was friendly, kind, and more expressive to people. And for example, this is what my puppet and I look like in that picture. California Blog #11: 7-Eleven

  As I'm still working on my next future life in northern California, I'd like to take my time to talk to you about my daily trips to 7-Eleven in my spare free time. Whenever I come in to a 7-Eleven, I get myself a Slurpee of any kind that I like. Whether it's wild cherry, blue raspberry, pina colada, or Coca-Cola flavored, I'm always down with that. One time, my family and I were visiting 7-Eleven to get myself a Slurpee during vacation in California, and I tried a wild cherry Slurpee. And I gotta tell you, I almost got myself a brain freeze when I sipped too fast. We were in the car on the way. Visiting 7-Eleven reminds of the time I was in Kansas City with my dad while we were moving, and it was great. I wanted to pick out something besides a Slurpee, but it was all I can get here for now.
