California Blog #34: Holiday Cheer

Okay, I’m gonna blow your minds with this one.

Back in 1997, I got to spend the holidays in California with my grandma Rose and grandpa Joe in December. Then, I spent Christmas day here with my family at Aunt Leta and Uncle Mark’s house. We got to open up the presents, spend time with the family, visited my grandma Helen, and got to hang out at Santa Cruz. Then in December 2005, we did it again. Wow, this brings us some good memories here.

Now get this, what do you think that maybe if I visit or move to California, we can spend the holiday season here in Scotts Valley and in Santa Cruz.

We can celebrate the holidays by going to the beach for a Boardwalk Winter Wonderland. We can have some fun here, celebrate the season at the beach, get our pictures taken with Santa, enjoy some classic holiday movies at Neptune’s stage, enjoy some holiday s’mores, get on some rides, and enjoy the view. Plus, maybe we can go see a Christmas parade somewhere downtown. We can also see the whole parade on the streets.

Usually I ask what I would really like for Christmas, and then I have my presents wrapped under the tree until Christmas Day and I open it. But at most time, Christmas is about spending time with our families. And we would appreciate it a lot. So maybe when I come here, we can spend Christmas break with aunt Leta and uncle Mark and the cousins at Scotts Valley. We will have a festive time together, hang out, and play around the house with the folks.

I remember my first time I spend Christmas in California when I was a baby. It was a long long time ago and I was really happy to enjoy it with my family.

Now I feel like when I can come back here for vacation, I might even get the chance to have a holiday party with my friends and family. We would hang out and chat at the Klavers’ house, roast some marshmallows, and enjoy some at-home movies here. I really like the movie Elf. It cracks me up so much. Aunt Leta would enjoy National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation with uncle Mark, and my folks would enjoy A Muppet Christmas Carol together. You feeling strong my friend, call me ‘elf’ one more time!

Man! If I had the time to enjoy Christmas in California, I would definitely kick it with the cousins. That including Kieran, Theo James, Miles, and Shanann, along with Ryan, and Brendan. We would also hang out together too, while aunt Leta and uncle Mark go Christmas caroling downtown. I bet uncle Mark would probably sing Christmas carols in a rock and roll tone. That would be pretty funny, then aunt Leta would probably say “That’s not how caroling goes! Are you crazy?” LOL

I would think that was funny. My dad would too.

When the turkey is cooked on the table, we would have a Xmas feast together at the house. If I would choose a figgy pudding, I would pick chocolate. Or if you mix it together with green food coloring, it would be green slime pudding. That would taste like vanilla and green apple. Duh!

I had an idea for when we all get together for the holidays and spend Christmas. I will leave out milk and cookies for Santa and leave out a list of anything that I would like. Then when it’s Christmas morning, I get my Christmas wish and we open up the gifts. That would make me really happy, and so do my family and friends.

Even in most days, aunt Leta, uncle Mark, and others will go holiday shopping and look for something interesting or something they like too. Who knows?

Hey, if you like my blog about the holidays, feel free to give my family some tips and ideas on the next holiday visit. This might take a while, but maybe I can come over to visit you guys this Christmas when we get a chance for our next vacation. That’s all for now.

So from all of us, to all of you. Have a merry Christmas and a happy happy new year.

Happy holidays!
