California Blog #26: Celebrating St. Patrick's Day

Decades ago while I was living in Lawrence Kansas, I celebrated this traditional holiday of green downtown. Even Americana Music Academy celebrated too. I even got the chance to join the parade with Americana. When I was a kid, my folks took me to downtown Lawrence to watch the parade. Everyone was handing out candy and goodies, playing music, dancing, and marching. I really enjoyed watching the parade and even joining it always, and I will continue to keep doing that for many years to come.

Speaking of which, I've come up with an idea for my next future life here. What if we can celebrate St. Patrick's Day by watching or joining a St. Patrick's Day parade here in California.

We can celebrate it every year in California when we go downtown in Santa Cruz, or in downtown San Francisco. We'll watch the parade together and see some floats parading by, hear good Irish music, hang out, wear green, and have fun partying. Another idea for when we celebrate it every year. We can join the parade and ride on one of the floats and have a real good time here. In fact, I might even get somebody to help me out.

So to do that, we need somebody I know who can help me out on a float that's perfect for the parade, and of course who could forget an Irish jam session during the float. Wouldn't it be pretty cool if we can do that?

I wanna take this time to talk to you about it on this blog, and that's why I'm telling you so.

Anyway, if there's a St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown Scotts Valley, that will be another idea to plan a float also.

If I can join a parade float for celebrating St. Patrick's Day, it would be one where I join the jam sessions of violins, fiddles, and guitars. Just like the one they did for Americana Music Academy.

We would all wear green and join the party.

And speaking of partying, after the parade, we can maybe go out to eat for a special lunch at Rosie McCann's Irish Pub & Restaurant. This one aunt Leta would suggest for St. Patrick's Day celebrating too. And in case you didn't know, this is what it will look like when we come in.

Or after the parade in San Francisco, we'd go to The Chieftain Irish Pub & Restaurant.

Usually, I go to McDonald's and have a Shamrock shake during that holiday in March, but when I'm living in California, I'm about to try some new and different for the time being.

My favorite part of celebrating St. Patrick's Day is definitely wearing green and joining the parade, because it's a great time to live freely and feel lucky.

So if you like to know what your favorite part of celebrating St. Patrick's Day, let me know on the comments on the blog or let me know on Messenger.

Anyway, if you would like to chat with me about celebrating St. Patrick's Day with me and my family in the future when I move here back in California, please let me know also.

Right now, I'll be planning on listening to some playlists for my 'Made In Ireland' mix on Spotify, watch a Disney Channel movie of Irish culture in basketball on Disney+, and all that other stuff.

In the meantime, let's talk about it.

Back to my story.

If there's also a parade for St. Patrick's Day in San Francisco for the next year, Shanann, and Miles would take me to downtown and see the parade, or perhaps ask if I can participate in joining a float for the parade with them. Then, aunt Leta and uncle Mark, along with my folks would wave at me as they see me on the float. Then they would take me out to lunch and meet me there.

Maybe if we're all lucky enough, we can all go to the parade and join in.

Anyway, have a happy St. Patrick's Day and hope to see you on the next blog.

P.S. Maybe another idea for celebrating St. Paddy's Day will be in downtown San Jose.
