California Blog #19: My Next Future Job
Okay, get this. I been working at past jobs for many years now. So when I move back to California, I've thought about getting a part-time job somewhere in the Northern California area. I have a few choices that I came up with. My choices are working at The Starving Musician, Sylvan Music, or Streetlight Records.
My first choice for my future part-time job is The Starving Musician. The store is open from 12PM-6PM Monday through Friday, and 12PM-5PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Starving Musician sells new and used musical instruments and equipment for all the musical needs. Help customers out with a little assistance, meet some interesting people, other things. Guitars, amps, drums, keyboards, Pro-Sound, etc. At The Starving Musician, I can see the logo with the picture of the person's face.
I liked visiting The Starving Musician with my dad because I see many of the instruments and the theme of the store including the stickers put on the walls. That's my first choice of my next future job when I come back to live there.
Choice No.2: Sylvan Music
Ever since my vacation in California, my dad and I went there to pick up a guitar. Like The Starving Musician, Sylvan Music has a lot of friendly folks and service in this store. The guitars in the vintage room are like a collection of choice, and it's incredible. Sylvan Music is the home of rentals and repairs, and of course guitar lessons.
For a warm welcome here, the motto always says "We think you'll fit right in." Sylvan Music is located in Santa Cruz, a sunny surf-town one-hour south of San Francisco. They offer fine musical instruments, as well as musical equipment and accessories to customers across the globe since 1984. It specializes in high quality guitars, mandolins, ukeleles, banjos, violins, dulcimers, harps, amplifiers, effects pedals, and accessories with instruments for every level of player at every price point.
Choice No.3: Streetlight Records
In case you didn't know, Streetlight Records is a record store for new and used music, and of course movies. Streetlight is also located at both Santa Cruz and San Jose in California. The reason I like to work here in the future as my third choice for a future job is that it's got a good atmosphere inside the store. Good folks, friendly service, and friendly people. The store also carries local music too. Streetlight Records can also be the home of live in-store entertainment events. Maybe I can get a chance to sort out the vinyl records, CDs, or in fact hang out. If there's perhaps some free posters that I wanna take home with me to put inside my house, I can somehow suggest a makeover to do in my room.
What's really cool about this place is the robot mural. Oh, and did I mention that it also sells video game too? Now you do.
1. Comicopolis
I haven't been to that comic book store before, and maybe for the first time in my life, I might get to check it out. It's got plenty of comic books, games, graphic novels, toys, and other gifts to check out in the Santa Cruz area. And it's the home to Team J-Roy, purveyors of all things comic & pop-culture. I wonder if there might be some games we can actually play in this store too. Maybe I can hang out here while working too. Who knows?
The video game store with a retro setting, which has a nostalgic touch to it. It makes me wonder...how and why do I like playing video games in the first place when I was a little kid. Man, I really enjoy playing those games the first time I had a Sega Genesis.
3. Epic Adventure Games
Located in Scotts Valley in California, it's the full service game store for the gaming community of the California central coast. It's even got a huge selection of board, role-playing, miniature and card games as well as a large dedicated play area. If I were to work here as my future job, the staff would be friendly and we'd all get to do some role-playing games together, goof off, play around, and go nuts. It can also be a fun and enjoyable experience.
Everywhere you look in California, there's always a way to find a better tomorrow for a brighter future. And someday in the future when I move back to California, I might plan on finding a future job I can find here in the Santa Cruz area. My family will be very proud of me if I did in the future. Everyone that I know and love will appreciate it a lot too. And when I do in the future, I will have plenty of fun there as always. Like my dad always says to me about it, it's gonna take a while before we plan on doing that. But it's always important to be patient and not rush to do it. Dad also said to me once. "Take your time".
