California Blog #01: Santa Cruz

Welcome to my first California Diary blog. Every other summer vacation, my family and I plan a trip and visit California. During these times as a vacation, I visit the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and go on rides, get some snacks, eat out, play arcade games, win prizes, and so on and so on and so on. What I really like about Santa Cruz are the waves of the surf in the ocean where the surfers hang ten just like in The Endless Summer.

The way I see the statue of the surfing legend makes me feel nostalgic in the coast. In the future, I want to learn how to surf courtesy of my cousins. It's the thrill in the fun of the sport of surfing. The thing I learned about surfing was from those surfing movies I watched on Netflix. Also at the Boardwalk, we'd love to chill out at the beach, maybe plan a picnic, or see concerts. For instance, we got to see Papa Doo Run Run last year.

They were excellent and I would love to see them perform again. Heck, I'd even get to sing along with them on stage. Just a thought, though.

Another thing I haven't seen in Santa Cruz before is something that the Klavers and I might wanna enjoy. Perhaps maybe for parties and such. This one is what I'd like to call it the Santa Cruz Roller Palladium.

Aunt Leta and Uncle Mark would think that might be fun to try. But this one I think is gonna one I might wanna try. That is the Boardwalk Bowl.

At the boardwalk, I'd like to play video game and maybe win prizes at the Casino Arcade.

Score!

Now whenever I want a smoothie or maybe try an acai fruit bowl, I wanna go to Samba-Rock Acai Cafe.

I don't know if you've seen it before, but this place has the best Acai fruit bowls, coffee and tea, and most possibly and greatest smoothies in the Santa Cruz County area. Maybe I can take Aunt Leta and Uncle Mark there for special times. And who knows, maybe I can get a t-shirt from the cafe.

One of the best things I also like about Santa Cruz is definitely the Wharf cause I love eating there for breakfast. I also wanna check out the surfing museum. My dad didn't wanna go there anyway. Duh.

The best part of California is my dad's favorite radio station he and I love listening to. KPIG! It's got all the good music in one radio station. We even enjoy listening to it in the car whenever we travel all around the golden state. Boy, that radio station is great. I can listen to it over and over again whenever we feel like it. If you like this blog, feel free to ask me about how much we love listening to KPIG in the state of California.

Another thing which would be pretty cool to do while in California is to do a little shopping for some new stuff in the future too. Perhaps maybe some stickers, music, home-decor items, new posters, anything. I would prefer stickers for my next project to put on my next sketchbook cover.

My next activity mission for my next future is finding a public library somewhere. Also, I consider finding an elementary school to entertain kids with puppets, like my Axtell bee puppet. Pretty sometime soon, I might save some money for a Rocky Fox puppet. And then, a Rick Rack puppet. And with enough time, I can collect the whole set of my Axtell puppets.

Santa Cruz Public Library

Bay View Elementary School

Boy, I would love to entertain kids with my bee puppet. I'm sure that they will love it and they would also appreciate it a lot. What's best about puppet entertainment is that I'm really talented at puppetry and practicing some things for my web show on YouTube.

I'm sure that everyone will love to see me perform entertainment for people to enjoy.

Plus, when living in California, I really need to find a local Best Buddies program to join just like the one I joined when I lived in Lawrence, Kansas. Best Buddies programs are always fun to check out and it can be important for everyone to improve plenty of friendship in their lives including mine. My family and I couldn't find one in South Carolina yet because we didn't see one yet.

Whenever I can go swimming at the beach and feel the waves crashing on me in the ocean, I can make sure that I bring my sunscreen with me. That way I hope that I don't get sunburned. And whenever I get sunburned after my swim or a tan, I put on some aloe vera on my body so that my body can cool off.

We can even take a walk around downtown and maybe grab something to eat.

Aunt Leta and Uncle Mark might figure out on something that can make my next future life easier in the golden state. If so, let me know.

Another thing that I haven't been too in California for decades is the Santa Cruz Municiple Zoo. Wait, I take that back. It's at Avenida Noel Kempff Mercado, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. Which means it's in South America. Sorry about that. So in that case, J/K :).  That means just kidding. But I can assure you that we might find a zoo somewhere in Northern California. For example, take the San Francisco Zoo. PLEASE! If you haven't seen it yet, then consider yourself lucky. This zoo has plenty of animals to sightsee like there's no tomorrow.

Aunt Leta and Uncle Mark would like that too. But I'll get to that when I talk about San Francisco on the next blog.

One day when I'm in California once again, I might get a job there. Perhaps maybe at a music shop or the record store. For example, my dad went to that store called Sylvan Music where he went and picked up that guitar. That was pretty fun, ain't it. That's my first choice of where to work there.

That next destination or second choice to work here at is The Starving Musician. It's got all the musical instruments, even including those awesome keyboards. I even got a picture of this amazing mural. Inside the store, I saw a tie dye ukulele.

My third choice of where to work would be a record store called Streetlight Records. You can actually tell by the new and used music releases and DVDs. It even has those vinyl records in this store too, you know. Buy, Sell, Trade. Who knew.

That would be pretty cool if I worked here in the future. Decisions, decisions. If you like what I'm saying in my first blog about my choices of where to work next, also feel free to give me more information about it just in case we'll work this out. Cause I think my choices of working at one of these stores in California could be a dream come true. Plenty of good vibes on that one too, huh.

Downtown Santa Cruz is a great place to shop and eat. There's also a great place for some great entertainment to watch. Maybe I can check it out more often in the future too. And another thing. If there was ever any other entertainment outside anywhere in Downtown Santa Cruz, I would definitely get the chance to join them and dance off with them. That would be kind of a throwdown.

What I wanna go to for a special outing is a place called Hula's Island Grill and Tiki Room. It's got an authentic Hawaiian theme setting inside the restaurant just like you're in paradise. For realsies!

One of my favorite places I love going to is Betty Burgers. Aunt Leta and Uncle Mark and I really enjoyed it. It's like a diner in the 1950s. Talk about doo-wop. Besides, either way you go out to eat, there's always a way to try out something new. Whether it's Jack In The Box, Chubby's Diner, Giant Dipper, a trip to the park, or anywhere else, you gotta love Santa Cruz.

Phew! That was fun. That's all for now and the first diary is complete. Next, I'll tell you my next blog about the city of San Francisco, also known as Frisco.  Catch you on the flip side. Peace!
